Dental Cleanings and Exams
Brushing and flossing every day is important, but it is only a part of a healthy and successful routine. Visiting your dentist will help ensure you of a good oral hygiene. A professional cleaning by your dentist will eliminate plaque, tartar and other bacteria build-up that you are usually unable to efficiently clean yourself.
Keep your teeth for your lifetime. Regular brushing, flossing and timely dental office visit will protect you from bacteria that can cause tooth decay, tooth loss or gum diseases which leads to a happy, healthy and confident smile!
Based on the diagnosis, your dentist will be able to assess the type and frequency of the cleaning or periodontal therapy you needed. We offer the following basic procedures to treat the above and below areas of your gum line:
- Prophylaxis – Patients who are diagnosed with a healthy mouth condition receive a prophylaxis. This procedure removes plaque on teeth and those that are at the gum line.
- Full Mouth Debridement – Patients who are diagnosed with gingivitis is usually required to have a full mouth debridement. This procedure removes plaque and calculus (tartar) that have accumulated on the teeth. Most patients gain a healthy mouth condition after this process.
- Scaling & Root Planning (SRP) – Also known to many as deep cleaning, patients who are diagnosed with active periodontal disease will only benefit from this form of procedure. This non-surgical procedure removes the plaque, calculus, and stain from the crown and root surfaces of the teeth. SRP may be completed in one or several visits.
